Share the gift of yoga with children! This weekend training will provide you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to teach yoga to children in a variety of settings. The training will include 17 hours of instruction on how to teach yoga to children ages 2-12, including modules on: child development, yoga games & activities, how to introduce child-friendly meditation & breathing practices, relaxation techniques, lesson planning, classroom management skills, teaching yoga philosophy to kids, ethics, and the business of kids yoga. Each participant will have the opportunity to practice teach and receive feedback on their teaching. All participants who attend the full weekend will receive a certificate of completion.
This training is appropriate for educators, health professionals, parents, yoga teachers, and anyone who wants to share the benefits of yoga with children.
Apprenticeship Option (included in price of weekend training):
Participants who complete the weekend training will also have the option to complete an 18-hour teaching apprenticeship with Shining Kids Yoga. The practicum will include assisting/observing 6 children’s yoga classes with an experienced children’s yoga teacher, and student teaching 3 children’s yoga classes. Additional written assignments will be required as part of the apprenticeship. Participants in the apprenticeship program will receive individualized guidance and feedback on their teaching from Shining Kids Yoga Owner & Educational Director, Andrea Creel. The apprenticeship is optional and is included in your training fee (apprentices must pay $60 for a background check in order to assist/teach classes in schools).
CEUS for Yoga Teachers: The weekend training qualifies for 17 CEUs through the Yoga Alliance. Participants who also complete the apprenticeship are eligible for up to 35 CEUs through Yoga Alliance (applicable to yoga teachers who are registered with the Yoga Alliance only).

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration, please do so at least one week before the training, and your fee will be refunded minus a 10% administrative fee. Sorry, no refunds or account credits will be given for cancellations made within less than one week of the training.
